According to the Kazakh legend about the stars - Zheti Karakshy (Seven Robbers), every night the brothers watch the two stars - Akbozat and Kokbozat (White Horse and Gray Horse - the stars of the Lesser Bear) to kidnap them. The horses are tied to the star Temirkazyk (literally «Iron stake») - the Polar Star, and they circle around it, unable to go away. As the morning comes, horse stealers disappear from the sky. The ancient astral myth in the Kazakh version tells of seven brothers-robbers who lived in the stellar world. Once they saw the most beautiful of the star clusters - Urker (Pleiades). They stole one of the Urker sisters and offered her to choose a groom from among them. She married the strongest of them, who can be seen next to the second star of the handle of the celestial Ladle (Mizar). Fearing that the kidnapped girl can escape to her relatives, the seven robbers are wakeful and restless during days and nights, guard her and at the same time lie in wait for the pair of winged horses...
