Jochi (Zhoshy) khan (1187-1227) - the eldest son of Genghis Khan, the ruler of Kipchak lands, the founder of the Golden Horde, the ancestor of all Kazakh khans and sultans. His mother's name was Borte, she came from the Konyrat tribe. Jochi's extraordinary military abilities began to manifest themselves from a very young age. He grew up strong, brave and skillful commander. After in 1206 Genghis Khan united Kerey, Naimans, Merkits and other tribes into one center, Jochi on his father's assignment conquered Southern Siberia, Altai, Eastern Turkestan and part of Northern China. Next, he fought the armies of Shah Mohammed of Khorezm on the banks of the Irgiz River. Thanks to the commanding talent of Juchi Khan managed to finish the battle in a draw. After this battle Mohammed Shah refused to go to war with him. And Jochi Khan in 1220-1222 conquered the cities of Otyrar, Syganak, Uzkent, Barshynkent, Zharkent and others. So he completely conquered the Khorezm state. For his outstanding military services, Jochi won respect and honor. In the historical kuryltai of 1223, his father Genghis Khan gave him control over the lands west of the Irtysh, as well as the space from the north of Zhetysu to the lower banks of the Volga, all the lands where "the hoofs of Mongolian horses have set foot", the entire Desht-i-Qypshak region. This vast territory was called Ulus Jochi (after his death it became known as the Golden Horde). At first, the Khan's headquarters was located on the bank of the Irtysh. Later he moved to Ulytau, where he was buried after his death. In 2021, as part of the celebration of the 750th anniversary of the Golden Horde, a historical and cultural complex "Zhoshy Khan" was opened in Ulytau, next to his mausoleum, in the center of which a monument to Jochi Khan was erected. . The authors of the monument are Gaziz Eshkenov, Aidar Zhamkhan, Ulagat Akzholtay. The table set is a miniature copy of this monument.
