Nauryz is an ancient celebration of the spring equinox, the time when nature awakens and people rejoice in the beginning of a new year, embracing new horizons.
In Kazakhstan, people greet one another on Nauryz by saying "Aq mol bolsyn!" - which means "May there be abundance of white." In Kazakh culture, white symbolizes prosperity and kindness; it is the color of dairy delicacies that enrich the national cuisine. A white tablecloth - aq dastarkhan - was traditionally laid out for the festive feast, and a white scarf was placed on the head of a newlywed bride.
The white porcelain is like a traditional blessing reimagined in a modern form.
The design draws inspiration from traditional Kazakh patchwork art, quraq. Each fragment combines elegant plant and geometric motifs, reflecting the harmony between nature and contemporary design.
